Caroline has a BA in Philosophy and Sociology from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Nairobi as well as a Post-Graduate Diploma in Gender and Development from the University of Nairobi. She has worked with several women organizations on gender issues. Caroline’s most recent work focused on a gender and governance programme that encourages women to take up positions of leadership and decision making at the local level. As part of the programme she developed a unique methodology of using theatre-based skills for training.

Research interests:
  • Dimensions of conflict among the traditional and modern pastoralists communities. 
  • The impact of conflicts on pastoralist women.
  • How patriarchy affects women’s rights.
