Saramba Kandeh is a graduate with LLB (HONS), (Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone). She was a full time member of the Human Rights Clinic at Fourah Bay College, where she served as Financial Secretary and later as Secretary General. While at the clinic, Saramba worked with a number of local NGOs including Campaign for Good Governance (CGG), an organization that deals with women’s rights, peace and security and civil society strengthening. While at CGG she did research on domestic violence and wrote reports on human rights abuses. She also worked at Timap for Justice (TFJ), a local NGO that bases its activities on equality and justice. At TFJ, she dealt with complaints related to gender-based violence. She later worked with Advoc-Aid, an organization that provides access to legal representation and legal education to female prisoners. While with Advoc-Aid she taught women prisoners at the Pademba Road Prisons in Freetown about what rights they have after being arrested. Research Interests
