Vicky has worked as a Programme Officer in the Grant-making Programme at Urgent Action Fund – Africa since 2003. The programme has supported women’s initiatives in 31 countries in Africa. She has engaged with a diverse range of women’s organisations and networks in conflict and post-conflict settings, particularly in Liberia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Burundi and Uganda. Vicky has undergone various trainings including the Isis WICCE International Exchange Institute on Human Rights, Human Security and Participation and has documented women’s experiences in situations of armed conflict. She has a demonstrated interest in transitional justice processes and has been involved in monitoring the prosecution of sexual violence at the ICTR. In 2008/2009 she implemented a project on interrogating the inter-linkages between conflict, gender – based violence and HIV/AIDS in Uganda, Liberia and Zimbabwe. Vicky holds a Bachelors of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Nairobi.
